Even if you could quit smoking for good, it wouldn't be the same as if you had never smoked. This is really unfortunate in sqme ways, because the decision to begin smoking cigarettes defines a great deal of what life brings you.
This is much easier for me to see after smoking for 40+ years, than it is for a young person. Looking back is always more informative than looking forward.
One of the biggest downsides to smoking is the financial cost. Where I live, cigarettes cost about $9.50 a pack. My wife and I each smoked around one and a half packs a day. That comes to $28.50/day. Day in, day out. The bill may be higher some days, but its never lower.
The only way to save yourself is to quit smoking right now. It will probably be pretty difficult, but stick with it. You'll have to do your research and decide what the best way to quit smoking is for you.
